We were given one body to live in and develop our health; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. How are we taking care of that body? Are we truly treating our bodies as our pure and precious "temples"? Are we giving our bodies the premium fuel it needs to run effectively and efficiently? Do we treat ourselves with kind and supportive words and positive thoughts? Are we forgiving of our mistakes and failures and take steps to grow? I'm certainly not saying we need to do everything right to abide by "healthy rules". No one is perfect, and every person needs to figure out what works for them. Taking care of ourselves and fulfilling our health needs is not selfish or negotiable, it's necessary. We take care of ourselves so we can be the best version of ourselves to share with others.
There are so many daily choices to make, and scheduling time for good nutrition, fitness, meditation/prayer/reflection and rest are crucial. Yes, it's hard work, but the benefits of feeling healthy outweigh it all. My tagline on my website and logo is "Build a Healthier You". I love the word "build" because it requires progressive work. Think about building a house. You start from the bottom to build a foundation. Plans must be put into place and followed each day. Along the way, there will be mistakes or problems, but there's always a way to overcome them and continue building on that house. Each step is progress, not perfection, until it becomes a strong and steady structure. Even when it's completed, a family moves in to live and they must continue the journey, working on building and maintaining their beautiful home. Your beautiful home deserves the best treatment! Create something you can be proud of and desire to live in. You won't regret the time spent, sweat poured out and choices well made when your progress shows amazing results!! It will take time, you will get tired, you will feel like giving up, but YOU CAN DO IT! Keep building everyone!! What part in your "construction" is the hardest? What steps can you take to get over that hurdle?
